My Room Design: Completed

wasted my whole entire winter vacation on planning and shopping, it was very time consuming. still, it wasn't enough time to get everything done. it took a lot longer than i expected.

here are pictures to show what i had to go through. i had to clean out my entire room before i could put anything together.
this bed frame was shipped from new york, its awesome for storage. i think its way better than those weak pull out drawers. p.s. in case your wondering, i am practicing for UFC/MMA. thats right, thats how they do it.
the cavali storage bed (white), expensive... T_T...
in the process of building the wardrobe i got from ikea

i think batman would have a bed frame like this. neat place to hide stuff.
wardrobe: drawer, basket, and gloss door were bought separately

stainless steel custom made closet from the factory i work at, free
wanted this L-shape table at room & board, it was expensive as hell. so i went there and copy there design, fabricated at the factory. free
no 4th leg in the middle
was thinking about glass top... changed my mind cause it didn't match with the color scheme i was going for.
2 piece 18" x 36" MDF white table top from "room & board"... expensive... T_T

life as a carpenter, in the process of building the hutch
added cushion underneath the hutch so it wouldn't scratch up the table top
the finish result
my home office complete, ^^ finally...

i am still pondering where to position some of my figure collection for displaying, so to be continue... room gonna change a bit.

Loot: 2011 January (4 of 4)

my last package from my january order has finally arrived. it was shipped from japan on the 27th of jan. and got to me on the 17th of feb., that's like a 21 day delivery. a long wait... im guessing its because i used "registered SAL small packet" a cheaper delivery service, and the huge nasty snow storm that occurred from where i lived causing the delay.

i meant to do this post earlier, but due to a busy week i just didn't had the time. i had to host some very good friends of mine from outer town for the weekend, then valentine's day on monday, a bachelor party, and a wedding i needed to attend to as a groomsman.
anyways, back to blogging about my loot before i get side track.

  • nendoriod 121: saber full action, is my first nendoriod purchase ever. the only reason i got her was because she was 50% off at amiami, which was like $24.33 a good deal i could pass up.
  • figma sp014: misaka mikoto from the anime series a certain magical index, it came with a psp game (or the other way around, the game came with the figure).
  • final fantasy xiv: kuplu kopo plushes

Loot: 2011 January (2 of 4) & (3 of 4)

what a surprise... O_O... i got two package arrived on the same day.

i kinda got an idea of whats inside the package already base on where it was send from. the big box was an order i made from new jersey, its the 5 piece display riser. and the smaller box was an order i made from this third person seller in japan known as yokatta, its a pvc figure.

looking closely at the label on the smaller package, i got worried because under the column quantity and detailed description of contents, it was written as "personal use, used toy doll x1...".

yokatta never mention it was used.

it better not be used with the amount i paid for a small figure.

lets open it up and see...

http://www.dynamicdisplaysolutions.com/store/template.cfm
acrylic display riser:
  • 7" x 7" x 7" (4 pieces, $5.95 each)
  • 8" x 8" x 8" (1 piece, $6.95)
  • with shipping, total spend: $42.75

http://yokattaweb.jp/index.html a site to go for rare exclusive figures
daiki kougyo 1/12 scale figure's akuma-san (purple version):
  • 5,880 yen, im assuming commission is already added in that price.
  • airmail 1,310 yen
  • total spend: $89.46

here a closer look on the acrylic display riser, it is very clear when the plastic skin is rip off.

PS3 Review: Fallout New Vegas

Story: You are a messenger who rose back from the grave and determined to find out who tried to assassinate you. The world is post-apocalyptic after nuclear war has taken place. The Platinum Chip is what the assasin stole from you and you must uncover his identity and purpose behind this act. You search throughout the areas around Las Vegas.
(8/10)

Gameplay: Your character has stats called SPECIAL attributes that determine your effectiveness in specific abilities and dialogue options. (Strength, Perception, Endurance, Charisma, Intelligence, Agility, and Luck) The game plays in either first or third-person view, with the option to use iron sights on your guns. On the other hand, you can also use the trusty VATS system to pause the game and plan out your next moves depending on action points. There is a companion system where you can bring two followers on your journey as well as a faction reputation system.
(9/10)

Graphics: Visuals are decent but not cutting edge. Character models and buildings are dull blurs at times but considering the vastness of exploration this is acceptable quality. Facial features are quite well-designed and look pretty realistic.
(7/10)

Sound: The firing of guns is not authentic enough and mostly sounds like a generic recording of gunshots. When a gun opens fire, it is hard to distinguish it's sound apart from other guns in the middle of a battle, which means that it is not very distinct/clear. Music is basically retro-style jazz from the 1960s. After a while the radio tunes get annoying.
(7/10)

Replayability: After a single run of this game, you have pretty much seen it all. However, if you like you may choose to replay it taking an evil side if you were playing good the first time. You may also choose different perks when you level up, focusing on melee instead of guns for example. Finally, there is an option to play through with the "Wild Wasteland" trait, which turns normal encounters into silly situations.
(6/10)

Conclusion: Fallout New Vegas is a fun sequel to Fallout 3 if you enjoyed playing the previous game. However, it is not as fun due to the shorter main quests. The faction feature is nice but it does not affect gameplay much besides giving you a few free items or allowing you to travel unhindered in certain areas. This is basically more of the same game. As for bugs, since the release there have been major updates so this should be a minor problem now. It was enjoyable while it lasted, but I would not want to level to 30 just to do things a slightly different way. The game is dragged out with its superficial quests to sidetrack you from the main story. I would say this game is decent, but not great. Perfect if you are looking for a relatively fun game that won't disappoint.
Overall = 7.4 rating (Decent)
